Electronic signature

Electronic signatures make it possible to sign documents without printing or paper. Learn about the different types of electronic signature, how identity verification works and how electronic signing is carried out in Podpisovna.

What is an electronic signature?

An electronic signature is a way for a person to express agreement with the contents of a document or confirm that they have signed it in an electronic environment. The eIDAS Regulation distinguishes several levels of electronic signature, which differ in their requirements for identifying the signatory, signature security and legal effects.

Not every electronic signature is a qualified electronic signature, and different types of documents may be subject to different formal signing requirements.

Electronic signing with Podpisovna

Podpisovna works with PDF documents. See how electronic signing works for the process.

Identity verification and the document

Podpisovna supports verification through Bank iD, MojeID from the “substantial” assurance level and Identita občana.

The final PDF includes an audit report with information about the signatory’s identification, the identification method used and the time of identification.

Podpisovna creates the final PDF in PAdES format.

The final document is provided with the qualified electronic seal of EzConvey s.r.o. and a qualified electronic timestamp. These elements protect document integrity and make any subsequent change detectable.
